The Beatniks spontaneously appear in the Village; I become friends
with Allen Ginsberg, Jack Micheline. LeRoi Jones. Diane
Deprima, William Morris, Shel Silverstein, Arron Cohan,
Hugh Romney. Robert Cordier. 

"Les Beatniks", a film by Cordier for French Television, Joni Mili, Life
magazine photographer. shoots us all in the Pad. But he won't
release the film to Cordier. we decide on a poetry reading fro:
city to city "on the road" to Mexico. we have 2 cars and
10 of us. Leave the Village. July 4. 1959.

coffee shop with a friend doing lighting.

Tatoo a Beatnik's arm with a shield with a fist holding bolts of
lightning and a cock and balls with wings in it and the
words "Fight or Fuck."

Mardi Gras Feb. 1960 New Orleans - On the way to Mexico again,
alone. In town less than 24 hours. Get busted for nothing.
On Mardi Gras Day the Mayor declared amnesty so they
fill the Jail with poor tourists. Out after 5 days. Live
