Thank you for your interest in becoming a Gatewave affiliate. Gatewave can either be downlinked digitally from the NPR satellite, streamed over the Internet and/or downloaded as individual programs from an FTP site. There is a small yearly charge of $200/year for this service that will be billed to you each January. Initial billing will not begin until 2011. Regardless of the amount of Gatewave programming you use, the fee remains the same. You may use the Gatewave feed as a stand-alone service or to implement your own service. However, there should be no partial alterations, additions or deletion of any Gatewave program segment. Gatewave broadcasts 6 hours per day of original programming that repeats three times daily for a 24-hour schedule. Programming begins at 06:58am with a 2-minute daily program guide. The first “new” program of the day begins at 7am, Eastern time. If your signal is broadcast on the open dial, you should be aware that from time to time, a newspaper or magazine which we are reading will include a “swear word” or common vulgarity. Our readers are not permitted to censor articles and therefore, certain words and phrases that are objectionable to many people in the United States, will be “on air.” I should like to point out that omitting a sentence or bleeping a word is your responsibility. You will find the Gatewave Program Guide available for download once you can access our FTP site. Some programs contain a variety of publications while others are readings from one specific source. Programs are 57:30 minutes in length and begin at the top of the hour. Midway, approximately 28 minutes into the program, is a short 1 ˝ minute break where we air the Gatewave ID and PSA’s. At the present time we are not able to send a remote signal to signify the close of the program. However, we hope to be able to do that in the near future and shall keep you apprised. Should you have any questions regarding program content, please email or telephone me. Telephone contact information is as follows: 1. During office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm), please telephone 646-202-1049. This is a message only machine. Once we have a full time staff, it will be manned during those hours. 2. Email: gail.s@gatewave.org for any information on scheduling or programming 3. For engineering difficulties, please email Richard Koziol at Richard.k@gatewave.org or telephone 201-874-9393. This is a cell phone number. Should you decide to download and broadcast ITN, please fill in the information requested and acknowledge your agreement. Indicate your proposed start date and how many subscribers your service handles. I would appreciate a bi-yearly update of the subscriber figure in September and March. You can print a copy of the agreement by using the print function. I look forward to your affiliation with Gatewave and a long and happy association.
