Customer:  We are getting set to launch a streaming audio internet radio station and need to get some idea of the scale up considerations for say up to 50,000 simultaneous users (streams)
Elise J:  Ok we have two different options that could work for you...let me ask you a few more questions and then I can get you with a specialist :)

Elise J:  Thanks.....Are you looking for this to be on a dedicated or shared environment?
Customer:  Right now we have our own hardware in a colo site. I am investigating our options.
Elise J:  Got it....so we also offer a managed colo option....are you looking to use your current architecture?
Customer:  The software is running on freebsd but is easily adaptable to linux.
Elise J:  Thanks for the info....how many dedicated servers are currently in your configuration?
Customer:  one hp-proliant dl380 g4
Elise J:  Great, so are you wanting to remain in a dedicated environment or possibly looking into a shared environment?
Elise J:  ( sorry, just want to make sure i am gettig the scope of your project so that I get you to the right specialist ! )
Customer:  I don't think that I know enough about the shared environment to be able to judge at this point.
Elise J:  Understand, not a problem....if we can find a workable solution, how soon are you looking to have this up and running?
Customer:  We'll be phasing it in over the next couple of months. This is a service which has been run over satellite private band radio for 20 years which is being replicated with internet delivery.
Elise J:  Ok, great

We give you full/root admin access via SSH, so you can upload/change/run anything you want onto the server just like the server was in your office.
